Our company utilizes our training in Professional Forestry to help meet the goals of today's forest owner. Since each forest is unique, we provide a variety of services. Depending on the individual needs of each client, we will customize a Forest Management Plan to meet your goals today and for the future.
Timber Sales and Marketing
As a Professional Forester, I handle your Timber Sale from beginning to end. We don't just sell your timber, we market it so that you get the fairest price possible from your timber harvest:
- First, we discuss the goals for your woodland and decide what trees are to be sold.
- Second, I will inventory and mark the trees to be sold, per your woodland management plan, and mark all property lines. The timber value, of the trees being sold, is determined.
- Third, I will put the marked timber up for bid to a wide variety of loggers and mills. The bids are collected and a winning bid is chosen.
- Fourth, I handle all contractual arrangements between you and the timber purchaser making sure that you and your forest are properly protected. Also, payment issues are handled at this time.
- Fifth, I regularly visit the site to make sure all contractual obligations are being met by the timber purchaser.
Forest Management Plans/Timber Inventory
We create a Forest Management Plan that best suits your goals and the condition and type of forest you own. Forest Management Plans can be used to obtain a tax reduction through the CAUV program and help you manage your forest for the future. Management Plans include:
- History of prior management, description of land and soil types.
- Detailed description of forest with inventory included (specie specific volume tables).
- Schedule of recommended management practices.
Wildlife Habitat Improvement
Manipulation of the forest makeup can be used to improve and enhance populations of both game and non-game species. Wildlife Habitat Improvement plans are accomplished using the forest owners goals, type and condition of existing forest, makeup of tree species and other factors. Many times, some financial benefit may be realized when creating habitat. The use of the following types of silvicultural practices may be used to enhance wildlife habitat:
- Small clear cuts created throughout the forest.
- Select cutting of mature, damaged and diseased trees.
- Specie-specific habitat improvement.
